Outlook Express 5 - Setting up a new account(Windows)
If you have never opened Outlook Express before, the Connection Wizard will probably start up; if it does, skip down to #4, if the Connection Wizard doesn't start when you open Outlook Express, continue from here:
- Open Outlook Express and click Tools then Accounts (below)
- The Internet Accounts windows opens (below); click the Mail tab
- To configure a new account with the Connection Wizard, click Add (If there is already a Mid-Mo, mail.mid-mo.net or other pre-existing account you want to configure, click here)
- The Connection Wizard will first ask for Your Name in a "Display name" box, here you can enter your name, your family name, or nickname (this will appear as others download mail from you); click Next
- In the Internet E-mail Address
window, select "I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to
use" and enter your e-mail address in the box; click Next
- In the E-mail Server Names window, POP3 is the default mail server type (your mail is downloaded from the server); you can also choose IMAP (your mail is copied from the server)
- Both the incoming and outgoing server names (below) are mail.mid-mo.net; click Next
* If you have a domain name with us, the server names are mail.yourdomain
- The Internet Mail Logon window (below) needs your username (account name) and a password; if you select Remember password, you won't have to enter a password each time you log on; click Next
- Select Finish on the last window
- In your Internet Accounts window, you now see your Mid-Missouri e-mail account; if it does not have (default) next to it, click the Set as Default button
