Creating a Connection with the Internet Connection Wizard (IE5)

  • Double-click the My Computer icon on your desktop.
  • Double-click the Dial-Up Networking folder.
  • With the right mouse button click once on the Mid-Mo icon and left-click on Create Shortcut; click the Yes button on the message box that comes up (you do want the shortcut on the desktop).
    • Note: You can select Properties if you need to change your access number.
  • Close the Dial-Up Networking and My Computer windows by clicking on the X in the upper right-hand corner of each window.
  • You now have a shortcut to your dialer program on your desktop.

Figure 4 - If you check Do not show this dialog box in the future and click Close in the dialing screen above, it will shrink down to the taskbar and these green screens will be the only indication you are connected from now on.
